"Forget the former things; do not dwell on the past. See, I am doing a new thing!"
Isaiah 43:18,19a

Dear Lord, You make all things new. Will You give me new eyes to see the good things I sometimes miss? Help me not to dwell on the past but to focus on the present and future. You are making a way, Lord, and I trust You with my heart, my husband and my marriage. Help us deal with any issues that are damaging our relationship, so we can appreciate the new things You're doing. In Jesus' Name, Amen.

Hello Everyone,

It's a New Year and we are so Blessed and look forward to new beginnings and new Miracles that the Lord will bring us each day. Already we have seen Big Blessings for this New Year. On January 8th we took Ashley to the Edinburg North Cougar Classic Show at the Mercedes Live Stock Show Grounds. Alyssa showed her goat Billy Ray and we all had a great time. Ashley smiled as she made eye contact with a lot of familiar faces she saw which were class mates from her school. I would look at her and ask her do you remember him or her and she would nod her head saying yes. This made me so happy to know that her long term memory is there. One of her dear friends Little Laura Cantu approached Ashley and they hugged for a long time because they had not seen eachother. Another good friend that approached Ashley to say hi was Stephanie Saenz and her sister Samantha. On January 24th Ashley continued her therapy sessions with Natasha at a new facility called Evolutions Therapy. We had met Natasha back at the Edinburg Hospital and she was willing to take Ashley into her care probono since at that time Ashley did not have any insurance. She has a wonderful building and the staff is very eager to work with Ashley. When Natasha first met Ashley in the hospital she saw Ashley lying in bed with a ventilator and even though one doctor had told us Ashley would not walk and would not be responsive to commands and any signs of progress would probably take up to a year to maybe three years. Natasha said, "give me the opportunity to work with her". "She is very young" and saw her pictures and said, "she is strong she can do this with a lot of hard work and time but she can do it"!! Natasha had not seen Ashley again after that one visit. We brought her into her facility on January 19th and she was so surprised to see her walking in and smiling. Immediately she said, "Ashley you are truly a walking MIRACLE"!! Everyday I ask Ashley, "how was your day?" and she answers, "good" and I ask her, "where did you go today?" and she will answer, "to school Mom". She says she went to play and smiles. They get Adrian involved with the exercises and this makes Ashley feel more comfortable and challenged. Ashley's friends Marlene and Stephanie continue to visit Ashley every Sunday aftertoon. They do different activities with her like her hair, nails. They work with different flash cards with pictures and words. Ashley is able to read them very quickly. Ashley has been staying very healthly and has not developed any illnesses thanks to God. We had been told by several medical personel that some patients with head injury become very aggressive physically and verbally. This would be a part of the healing process. Ashley on the other hand has not shown any signs of aggression either physically or verbally. She is very loveable, calm, loves to hug and give kisses. She is very funny in a new but similar Ashley way. Though she had started saying some bad words little by little we kept reminding her not to say them because they were not good words to say to people. She stopped saying a lot of her bad words but kept two words as her favorite. She says them to everyone, I mean everyone! They are, "You B_t_ _!!". We understand that this is part of her healing even though it was something she used to say before. We thank the Lord that she is not experiencing any anger or aggressive behavior. We ask that you please continue to pray for Ashley as the Lord continues to do his work through her. We appreciate and love to read your comments. Please share Ashley's blog page with your family, friends, and loved ones. Share it with young teenagers or adults who feel lost and need to be motivated and shown to have Faith in the Power and Love the Lord has for us. You are never alone, he is always by our side. Please enjoy our January Pictures.

Thank you and May God Bless and Protect You.

Love Lulu & The Olivarez Family
